The world thrives on creativity, however the world of art has often been difficult to access. Lucy’s Art Club hopes to address this, and open a way for those who have found accessing the artistic world difficult.
If you’ve ever had an interest in art but have found galleries or classes to be inaccessible places, Lucy’s Art Club hopes to change that, and show you how to begin exploring this creative world for yourself. If you’ve wanted to create artistic works but haven’t known where to begin, Lucy’s Art Club is the place for you! If you’ve already got a foundation in art, Lucy’s Art Club can help you too, as a space where you can develop and grow your artistic practice.
In addition to demystifying the world of art, Lucy’s Art Club offers an open door for those who are neurodivergent or have mental health problems that might make accessing galleries or classes difficult. The programme is open to all with a focus on supporting neurodivergent people exploring the art world. It is an LGBTQIA+ friendly space, and is open to anyone 18+ who wishes to attend. There is no restriction based on skill level or experience – this programme is for anyone who wishes to learn more about art and exhibiting.
Lucy’s Art Club is working in partnership with turntable gallery, Grimsby, to offer an inclusive course that will cover art history, creative mediums, artistic critique, and how to use grants to fund your artistic work, leading up to a group exhibition.
